Ruwaya Al Shamsi
Founder of RAWA & Mother
As a new mother, I struggled to understand my baby’s needs, leading to frustration despite my instincts. I found a solution in basic hand gestures, adapting signs for hunger, tiredness, and bath time from the book “Baby Signing” and pairing them with spoken Arabic. My child quickly progressed, inspiring me to create RAWA (روى). This innovative learning program aims to empower young children by providing them with the tools to express themselves effectively. Through engaging content and a focus on Arabic language and culture, RAWA seeks to foster a love of learning and promote early language development.

Our Experts

Mrs Fatma Aldabal
With over 30+ years dedicated to the education sector and child education specifically, I deeply understand the critical importance of carefully crafted learning programs that cater to the unique needs of children. By prioritizing their developmental stages, we can foster a love of learning Arabic that lasts a lifetime. My heart is invested in developing curriculums that empower young minds and provide them with the necessary tools to thrive. A key focus of my work is promoting and preserving our rich Arabic language and culture. While many programs mimic Western models, RAWA offers a culturally sensitive approach that instills a deep sense of patriotism and appreciation for our heritage. I am honored to contribute my expertise to the RAWA program and play a role in nurturing the next generation of leaders. By combining innovative teaching methods with traditional values, we can ensure that our children are well-prepared to succeed in a globalized world.

Sahar Salihia
My journey of teaching Arabic to children began in 2004, spanning two decades. Arabic, the language of the Quran, is a
profound and rich language that captivates me with its synonyms and diverse expressions. It is the language of poetry and literature. I feel a sense of pride when speaking it. Moreover, my deep love for children provides me with immense positive energy, love, and affection. My goal is for all children to become proficient in Arabic. I find great joy in teaching Arabic and feel immensely satisfied when I succeed in helping them achieve this goal. Therefore, I am honored and delighted to join the RAWA team, as it allows me to contribute my knowledge and expertise to this ancient language, which I have always been passionate about sharing, especially with my beloved children.

Mrs Khawla AlNimer
With a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, I have dedicated over a decade to nurturing young bright minds. My five years of experience as a dedicated educator have allowed me to witness firsthand the transformative power of early
childhood education. I am passionate about creating a safe and stimulating learning environment where children can thrive.
By fostering a love of learning, particularly in Arabic language and culture, I aim to equip young learners with the essential skills and knowledge they need to help them develop their minds beautifully. My work on developing the RAWA learning program is driven by a desire to provide children with high-quality learning content that is both engaging and culturally relevant. By offering a positive and enriching viewing experience, we can help to counteract the negative social influences often associated with less meaningful media.
